CIPSH

The Jena Declaration was invited to present its program, aims and claims at the XXXV General Assembly of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH) held as an onsite and online from Monday and Tuesday December 13 – 14 , 2021, in Odense (Denmark).

CIPSH, a founding partner of The Jena Declaration is the leading global humanities organization. As a world-wide umbrella organization for the most prestigious international and regional learned societies within the humanities, the CIPSH has a mandate and a mission to ensure that the human sciences remain scientifically sound as well as of social relevance, also in regard to sustainability According to CIPSH, achieving sustainability requires striking a balance between the immediately perceived short term problems and the less evident to the world public, but even more relevant dilemmas, that require a mid and long-term framing.

The invitation allowed to present The Jena Declaration to the presidents and secretaries of the 22 member unions and organizations of CIPSH. This led not only to a broad support of TJD, but it was also adopted as an official key project of CIPSH, together with APHELEIA, an Active Partner of The Jena Declaration. Its emphasis on the crucial role of the geographical, historical and cultural embeddedness of all everyday activities across the globe, is of key interest for CIPSH.
