As one of the first signers of The Jena Declaration, I believe 21st Century progress relies upon regional and international collaboration. We must work together across age groups and ideologies, income and gender differences, political and social conditions, and our difficult histories. This is not easy to do, but it is both essential and the core of modern education.
Luiz Oosterbeek, President of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences
We believe several partnership initiatives may be considered, namely in the framework of implementing the principles and vision of The Jena Declaration and the BRIDGES coalition programme of UNESCO, both of which CIPSH is a founding partner.
Garry Jacobs, President of the World Academy of Art and Science
It will take a broad-based global social movement to change thinking and action for the transition towards sustainable prosperity. This requires fine tuning to local needs and conditions.

The Jena Declaration Principles are excellent in all essence, encompassing all variables, pointing to engagement and the most important variable – outcomes equating to solutions. I have signed the Jena Declaration, and give my full support, on its essence of progression on solutions that we need as there is no Planet B.

Culturally and regionally adapted’ is important to understand in historical ecological and contemporary/future social-ecological terms. It would be good to see more large-scale studies of the historical ecological dimensions of adaptation to support/guide further work.

I work in the area of boosting energy literacy and raising awareness of the need for energy justice in the clean transition. I would be very interested to see if there are ways we can become more directly involved in your campaign to encourage people to practice more sustainable energy behaviours in their daily lives. We have started a small SoMe campaign that we will launch in the fall.

Investing in the education and empowerment of young minds on the principles of resource conservation, responsible consumption, and environmental awareness is essential to building a sustainable future. By prioritizing this during the “Decade of Action,” we can ensure that the lessons embraced in childhood naturally translate into a genuine and lasting commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
